NATIONAL PARKS

the national parks are beautiful, but the way they were created is not.

Many people remain unaware of the displacement of Indigenous people caused by the creation of National Parks as the National Parks Services have not addressed their history.

audience:

“The Young Activist” are Gen-Z and Millennials who acknowledge the mistakes of their predecessors and are trying to educate themselves to help better society.

insight:

“I want to be an ally to those who have been oppressed or wronged by society.”

Beginning with rebranding to a modern and a Native People-influenced depiction, the National Park Service will honor and recognize the original care takers of the land.

PRINT

strategy:

To begin mending past wrongs against Native Peoples, the National Park Services will educate consumers by including Native art, history, and stories as part of their own.

All of the artwork was inspired by a native artist.

Social media, being a main source of information for Gen Z and Millenials will be used to educate consumers about the history between the National Parks and Native Peoples. Here they will be invited  to "Learn their Stories".

Special thanks to Donna Wilson for consulting on how to proceed on this sensitive topic.

Proceeds from product purchases  at National Parks will go back to the Native Communities which the correlating park had displaced.

A small but important step.
